On the agenda this week is Guzzisue ice skating!! main problem is that I don't know how but I'm sure we can overcome that one hahaha. If my posts suddenly stop you know that my attempts were unsuccessful and I'm nursing a broken something.
The Ice skating proves that Christmas grows closer, the open air rink is up and running, the German Market is buzzing and I get to have time off work next week to catch up with the dreaded housework etc.
In the meantime I am still embroidering the felted surface and making some slow progress on the lace. The brass coloured "beads" are actually the heads of the pins pushed down into the pillow. I hope any serious lace makers following this experiment aren't too horrified by the way I am misusing traditional techniques. I love making traditional lace as well.
I do hope you enjoy the experience if ice skating. It's great to be able to do that and enjoy the Christmas markets.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking how fabulous that lace would look if it was big-you know, installation sized....
Good luck on the ice skating. I've only been twice and was so bruised up I could hardly walk afterwards. But I'm sure you'll be much more coordinated!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what size thread you were using but decided it is quite fine if those are brass pinheads. i like it and ony wish my lace skills were up to experimental.
ReplyDeletebetter wear your helmet! maybe a padded pair of pants wouldn't hurt either ...
ReplyDeletenot to worry about offending me in the lace making department...I haven't a clue.... carry on experimenting....
Oh My! I just love what you are doing with that lace. Keep up the experiments, who knows where they will take you.
ReplyDeleteThreadspider- I've been thinking about working big, its on the list for when I get chance to work out the logistics of doing it :-)
ReplyDeleteAs for the Ice skating - will report back tomorrow.
