playing with shiny bits (City and Guilds use of metallic thread etc) part one

For creative embroidery part two (not sure what it is called now) we had to show that we could use metallic threads etc so take on reel of copper wire and......

knit with it

playing with wire

add sequins as you knit

playing with wire

add beads as you knit and spray paint when finished

playing with wire

knit then machine and handstitch over it

French knit with it

wrap it round cocktail sticks

I later used wire and beads in brooches but can't actually get to them to photo-maybe later.

next post will be stitching with metallic thread.

WoW! This is really wonderful stuff! How long did all of this take to do ?? Where did you find all of those cool 'threads'?

I was given some copper wire the other week. Now, where did I put it? This looks wonderful and would make amazing beads, patch embellishments, spine embellishments on a book, so many things. Thank you for the ideas!

Looking back at my old work and seeing this post has made me realise how much I love to experiment. This is such an exciting use of stitch.
