Banished

from the house........Ian has been busy tearing up carpet, rubbing down paint work etc on our stairs and landing so my workroom now looks like this:
So I have been exploring Nottingham between cups of coffee, well it is rather cold out there! On Friday I called in at the Nottingham Society of Artists where John M Pooler was continuing his exhibition of oil, watercolours and drawings. The watercolours of Italy bought back memories of our motorcycle trips there.
I went on to visit Nottingham Castle which is no longer a castle but an art gallery.

This fellow bought a smile to my face as the sign on the door clearly read private, staff only but obviously held a supply of nuts just for him!

I also wandered up to look at the Sky Mirror by the artist Anish Kapoor which is situated outside the Nottingham Playhouse.

Today I visited the New Art Exchange to view the exhibition 'Strength of Feeling'by Sokari Douglas Camp
.
This little creature also appeared in my sketchbook.

I love the Sky Mirror photo! I have been lucky to see - and marvel at - Anish Kapoor's "Cloud Gate" in Chicago on various occcasions...and I am so ashamed that I didn't know about his Nottingham work! On my way....
