I think I survived my first week back at work, good job it was only 4 days! So out of touch with everything coupled with a new building and new staff. Consequently I have been simply collapsing in a heap each night instead of being at all creative. Except for Wednesday night when I managed to play catch up with a bit of bobbin lace and gossip at Stitched Up in Sherwood, Nottingham.
So today, whilst Ian is out doing biker type things with Biker Ted, I spent a little time playing. Firstly, I completed the lace so it now just needs tying off and mounting (just???)
I've made six quick doodle key fobs ( awaiting the metal bits)
and I've made my first felted bowl using wool tops, a balloon and a pair of tights. This is just a tryout to see how the method works so the holes are allowed. Next attempt will probably be with natural coloured fleece and maybe stitch to finish...watch this space.
I hear the sound of ice clinking in glass ( in my imagination) and my bottle of Schnapps calling so have a great weekend everyone.

Your lace is beautiful! Some day I will get beyond bookworms!
Sounds like you've been busy. The lace is lovely as is the bowl. Not sure where the tights come in? I'll be interested to see where you take this with the stitch.
that was pretty quick - I usually doddle about and it takes me ages to finish (I need deadlines:)) didn't start the fan yet, but I saw several others online that I liked too! the problem was to find the pattern for sale, I didn't fancy doing my own - not enough time! and I agree - mounting is nearly as bad as winding the bobbins:) I also like your coloured lace "ribbons" - nice idea!
That tying off job looks like you have your work cut out for you! All those threads! YIKES! LOL!
Looks like you've been busy having fun! :)
Your little key fobs are gorgeous, what a lovely idea.
Beautiful bobbin lace (love the vareigated one in the previous post too).
Glad you survived going back to work. I love the felt bowl even with the holes.
Ah.......first week back. Aways tests the stamina. Glad you found some time to create. Love the piece of lace. I am jealous.
Wow, you've been busy! The lace is gorgeous. Love the key fobs too.
Have a great Sunday!
The bowl looks fun. I keep planning on trying some wet felting...someday!
As to your lace, my goodness! It looks so complicated but you do such an amazing job. Love all your work!!
Your lace is fabulous Sue. Hope hte next week is easier.
Amazing lace! It looks so intricate. I've always been tempted to try lacemaking but I don't think I have nearly enough patience for it! Great work!
Can't wait to see your next effort with the tights and balloon! Really like the sound of the natural colours and stitching
That lacework is amazing! Love the key fobs as well.
Great! You never cease to amaze me.
tanks for all you king comments, the lace is off the pillow waiting to have the ends sewn in and I am thinking of embroidering some felt bowls.
I will get back to you personally but full time work has been a bit of a shock to the system :-)
