One week into our trip and week thirty six is complete. Its a little more awkward stitching from the pattern on my phone than having a printout but I did make a point of charting the destinations before we set off from home.
The alphabet has been faithfully reproduced from a schoolgirl sampler, the error is not mine !!
WOW, week 35 so only 15 more to go ! I'm impressed that I got this far as usually on the annual stitch a long I throw in the towel quite early.
This may be the last photo of the whole thing for a while as its now as long as the bed.
Oops, I forgot to post the last three sections, I've just finished part thirty four and checked my blog ( to copy the labels) and realised that I hadn't popped anything up since before we went back to Bridlington.
Well here it is, a couple of errors but I'm not picking it all out again.
Its been a really busy week of sorting out and packing, travelling and speaking to people so I finally finished this weeks band on Saturday morning and added the locations last night. The next couple of bands will probably be delayed due to Festivals so I will play catch up if necessary.
I made it just by the skin of my teeth, week thirty completed over coffee in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. I think I will put todays date at the end of the strip and start the next one with the town name before stitching week thirty one which is due out tomorrow.

This week we are continuing with the darning patterns and I have made a mental note to myself to start charting out the location names for our next break as I suspect some will need a bit of fiddling to fit.
I finished the stitch today in a favourite cafe in Sherwood and started it in St Peters cafe in Nottingham. I'm thinking of doing occasional posts on where I end up with my bus pass now I can stray outside the city limits without having to work out how much it will cost.
In amongst all the spinning madness of Tour de Fleece I still found time to stitch part 27. This time it's what we would call darning patterns and they were hard work!
Week twenty six complete and additional band added for the start of Tour de Fleece on Saturday. As you can see I'm nearly ready to start a new band which will be attached at some point in the future.
Week 25, halfway there !! I've been busy and have just about finished the hemming on the next fabric strip. I think I may get a couple more bands on this one but I'm going to try and chart a band to represent the tour de fleece starting so that may take up a bit more space.
This has been fun and I've found it much easier to keep up with than the monthly SAL's as inspite of getting patterns more often they do feel a lot more doable in the time given.
I hadn't realised that I'd missed posting week twenty three so this is a bit of a catch up. I'm still hemming the next piece of fabric along with designing a couple of extra bands. The bobbin lace insertion to go between the two sections is almost complete and I hope to finish that on Sunday as part of International lace making day.
I'm getting close to the end of this strip, maybe two more bands depending on the height of them.
Week 22 finished and I need to get around to hemming the next piece of material very soon.
And the final place name for this trip has been added along with the name of the boat that Ian was sailing on at the weekend.
Week twenty's pattern is the first one that I haven't liked. It was supposed to be cats but to me they just looked like blobs. I have now seen the cutsie cat that they were based on and I can sort of see the resemblance but I chose to do a simple Fair Isle band instead and add on another two locations.
To be honest, I'm a little surprised that I am keeping up with this SAL :-) but I am actually having a lot of fun with it.
I completely forgot to post week seventeen as we are travelling around so here is both week seventeen with the hearts and eighteen with the alphabet. As usual I have added the places were we have been staying which will give you a clue as to where the next few posts will be about.
We have just added some spring bunnies to the band, I wonder what is next ?
A quick update, as I forgot to post week 14 I've decided to show all of the sampler stitched so far. This is up to date including this weeks band.
Friday, 3.30pm I finally finished with the crowns whilst relaxing with a coffee, No special additions this week but I have a few ideas in mind for future stitching.
I am enjoying this Stitch - a - long and hope to keep up with the instalments ( 50 in total )
I plan to add place names and maybe some of the sample details as I go along but for now week 12 is finished as at 25.03.26
I then went on to add the names of the places where we stayed overnight and the name of the sampler that I purchased whilst we were away.
I was right, a row of squares. A day or so late in finishing this one but will hopefully catch up properly during the week.
