lace town

Although Nottingham is know for lace it is machine made lace that put Nottingham on the textile map along with its frame knitting history, we made the trip down to another lace town, Honiton in Devon to visit the lace museum.

I forgot to take any photos of the town so here is the link https://www.visitdevon.co.uk/explore/cities-towns-and-villages/honiton/ to one of the tourist sites.

Reminders of the towns textile history can be found in the tiles set into the supermarket walls on Lace Walk.

and the Allhallows museum houses an amazing collection of Honiton lace and also has a small shop selling second hand items and spools of thread ( I may have restocked )

I would encourage any lacemakers to spend some time there if they are in the area'
