quiet, meditative spinning

 We are back in Ludlow, lulled to sleep last night by Jess Glynne who was playing at Ludlow Castle and we could hear it across the campsite until the 10.30 curfew when it went quiet.

Today we went into town, did some shopping on the market ( liquorice, strawberries and cheese ) a quick trawl of the charity shops which turned up another plate for the collection, this time a German one.

Followed by coffee in the church

I had more pictures of the church and Ludlow but for some strange reason my photos have been deleted from the card so I leave you with just this one whilst I was quietly spinning in the Icon café based in the church.

Exploring our Medieval towns.

 Recently we have been exploring some of the Medieval and Tudor towns in the county of Shropshire, Our first stop was Ludlow, where we visited last year.

A small market  town perched on a hill with a Castle at its heart.

The castle was built in the 11th Century , although the giant Easter eggs in the wheelbarrow are somewhat more recent.

Originally a walled town , there are nearly 500 listed building including examples from the Medieval and Tudor times.

The Feathers hotel, built in 1619 has now grown to be Ludlows largest hotel, taking in the buildings on either side.

Late 19th century grade 2 listed, amazing detail and next door but one to a 17th century building.

Just about any road you walk down has beautiful examples.

A slightly different design element is the original vintage doorway mosaics in the some of the shops

This was our second visit to Ludlow and we will be going back, also if you fancy coffee and cake then I recommend visiting Icon Coffee in St Laurence church.
