Tewkesbury Revisited (photo heavy post again)

The last three nights of our recent break were spent at Tewkesbury Caravan site, opposite the Abbey and pretty much in the centre of the small town. We had booked the site much earlier in the year for a couple of nights and on hearing that Friends Ukenited would be busking on the Saturday we quickly added the Saturday night to our break so that Ian could join them for the first time in maybe three years.

On a previously visit we have had not had time to explore the Abbey so made it our first stop on the way out of the campsite.

check out the expressions on these two.

so much design inspiration

and a lock that deserves to be in Hogwarts

The  rest of our time there was spent admiring the old buildings and enjoying the Big Weekend events

Then, suddenly it was time to pack the van up and head home, we are slowly hatching a plan to travel more next year but for the time being we will grab the opportunity whenever we can.

Amazing! The only time I've been in a place like that was in Quebec City. We are woefully lacking in abbeys here in the US.
