I've been trying to come up with some new beanie designs. I often use a few favourite traditional designs that I really don't have to think about too much like these.
But I currently have a desire to knit something a bit finer, more complicated so I can enjoy the longer process, does this make sense?
These are my latest two projects, hand spun as usual but more of a light 4 ply weight
What do you think?

Beautiful!
I've been in the mood to go dig out those two Fair Isle sweaters I started last year. I couldn't imagine working on them in this heat but now that it's cooling down a bit I'm starting to get in the mood for something more complicated than socks.
I think those patterns are fabulous Sue. I would love to knit like that but it can get a bit tangled and I find the tension difficult.
Looking great! Any tips for knitting colorwork with handspun?
monica..posted to your blog Hi, thanks for dropping by my blog, in answer to your question about knitting with handspun. The yarn needs to be as consistent as possible and the gauge will vary with most. I generally check wpi and try to match the yarns. As I mostly knit hats and headbands I will cast on so many inches rather than a number of stitches for the rib then adjust to the number of stitches required once on the pattern section.
araignee .. now is the knitting season so dig them out :-)
Gillian... bring some with you next time we have coffee xx
