So that was Christmas

 Hi,

Armed with a bag of food ( no chocolates, no alcohol )we made our way to Ferry Meadows campsite just outside Peterborough. This site is a bit of a favourite with us and this was our sixth visit, in fact it was our 3rd and last Christmas visit as we were advise that it will no longer open for the winter.

The reason that we return here is that the site is only about 60 mile away and is next to Nene country park giving us both to go out and explore, Ian on his bike and myself by foot (via the parks cafe)

Christmas day itself was a bit dismal and wet but looking at the forecast on boxing day we booked a extra night and headed out into the park.

Knitting wasn't on the agenda as I wanted to make some progress with the big red thing, my challenge is to get it finished asap especially since its been on the go for a couple of years now,

We didn't avoid Christmas altogether as there was an invite to join the wardens for dinks and mince pies on Christmas Eve and a knock at the door Christmas day by two wardens armed with Buck Fizz, thanks guys xx of course we accepted the offer.

Next post will be in the New year, speak soon.

Beautiful photos as always. The big red thing is looking good. What will you do with it when it's finished ? Hard to judge how big it actually is from the photo. Must get on with some cross stitch myself. Keep saying it but..........

The big red thing is spectacular. I had look up Buck Fizz but I do know what mince pie is and I missed having any this year.
