Soed Idee Jubileum week nine

I nearly forgot to post week nine progress.

As you can see we were still in Bridlington ( see next post ) and I added the Gansey Lass as Ian was in the boat shed helping to give the boat Gansey Lass a coat of paint.

Soed Idee Jubileum week eight

Week eight gave us more chickens and I've also begun to add the names of the places that we have stayed overnight in during the week. Slow start this year as we didn't travel in January due to illness but we will make up for it over the next few months.

Coleshill, near Birmingham was an overnight stay for a presentation dinner with the Round Britain Rally participants and Bridlington on Thursday was the start of a short break by the sea.

I'm now looking forward to being able to start part nine whilst enjoying coffee by the sea , at least that is the plan.

Soed Idee Jubileum week seven

I must admit that this was a much quicker stitch and I had it completed over the last weekend between other projects.

Soed Idee Jubileum week six

Week six complete however I feel that it may need a little more adding to it, I'm having a think and a search round both google and my own files and books. Maybe some Blackwork motifs ?

Soed Idee Jubileum week five

Week five finished in time for week six to be released. This week it was half a band , to be completed with Saturdays release. Sneaky look at the heading photo shows a house and a further band below looks like an alphabet.

The reason for all the hemming

Over the years I have often seen very long Dutch band samplers similar to this on Pinterest and other places.

unfortunately there wasn't a credit on this photo, however it seemed that there were a few places releasing the designs as a SAL but tracking down the Dutch sites was proving difficult until just after Christmas when someone kindly sent me a link to one of the shops that does a weekly stitch along every year.

The next challenge was trying to find the fabric wide enough to take 99 stitches across the width. Most places are currently sold out or they have fabric that isn't wide enough.

My options were to wait several weeks or stash dive! As I need 2 couple of metres or so the stash dive option was obviously the heaper option. My fabric is around 57 inch wide so at some point I will need to attach more but I'll sort that out at some point in the future.

So I now introduce you to Jubileum SAL 2026 by Atelier Soed Idee  I'm nearly at the end of week one and playing catch up at the moment as week three will be released today.

Interestingly, this anniversary sampler is made up of patterns sent in by people that have participated in the past so I'm curious as to what designs are included.
