Back to the seaside

 August bank holiday, why not go to the beach and have an ice-cream? 

We headed back to Bridlington last Saturday, leaving early and getting down to the Harbour cafe for breakfast at about 8.30.

The fishermen were already lined up along the harbour wall along with a few families crabbing.

The cafe gives good value, just over £14 for two full breakfast with tea and toast, definitely set us up for the day.

We followed this with a walk along the harbour wall. Its always good to see commercial fishing boats as well as leisure craft,

and equally interesting to see something a bit more traditional.

This time we popped into a craft fair and then had a ride on the land train just to see where it goes.

Good view of the town and plenty of green spaces, a little further along and you can play count the windmills :-)

After a huge ice cream we went back to the car and headed out to the old town, There is a beautiful priory church to be explored at a later date. The building is a little difficult to photo because of all the trees but I thought that it reminded me of small French towns that we have visited, just missing small tables and chairs in the shade.

The old town is mainly antique shops, galleries and tea rooms. Sadly some are now empty but hopefully they will be taken on and revived.

Although sight seeing isn't the main reason for being here, its proving to be rather enjoyable xx
